Tire pressures
Most cars run 30–35 psi, which is 2.07–2.41 bar. European door-jamb labels often list 2.2–2.5 bar. Always use your vehicle’s placard, not the maximum on the tire sidewall.
Common mistakes
Mixing gauge and absolute. “psig” and “barg” are gauge; “psia” and “bara” are absolute. Add 1.01325 bar (14.696 psi) to convert gauge to absolute.
Using kPa labels as bar. 220 kPa is 2.2 bar; the decimal point moves two places.
For the reverse, use bar to psi.
