Timesheets
Many payroll and billing systems use decimal hours. Common blocks: 6 minutes = 0.1 h, 15 minutes = 0.25 h, 20 minutes = 0.333 h. For payroll, avoid rounding every entry; add the minutes first and then convert.
Common mistakes
Reading 1.5 hours as 1 hour 50 minutes. It’s 1 hour 30 minutes.
Assuming months have 30 days. For longer spans, this converter uses the average Gregorian month (30.436875 days) and year (365.2425 days).
