From decimal stone to stone and pounds
The converter gives decimal stone. To write it the traditional way, keep the whole number and multiply what’s after the point by 14. For 12.6 stone: 0.6 × 14 = 8.4, so 12 st 8.4 lb.
Common mistakes
Writing decimal stone as stone and pounds. 12.6 st is 12 st 8.4 lb, not 12 st 6 lb.
Rounding at each step. Convert once from kilograms, then round the final pounds.
