When you need this conversion
Reading car reviews and specs from Europe, Australia, Canada or Asia, and comparing them with US or UK figures.

- 6 L/100 km = 39.2024 US mpg (47.0802 UK mpg)

Trip fuel
Liters per 100 km makes trip estimates easy: at 6.5 L/100 km, a 350 km drive uses 22.75 L. Multiply the rate by the distance in hundreds of kilometers.
Common mistakes
Multiplying by a factor. The relationship is inverse, so a constant factor gives nonsense.
Mixing test cycles. European WLTP figures and US EPA figures are measured differently, so the same car can show different numbers even after conversion.
For the reverse, use mpg to L/100 km.
